I'm a hard core Steeldrivers fan but this is one heck of a cover. Adele has a great singing voice. Much respect to her for raising awareness of the Steeldrivers.

Adele is an awesome songwriter and singer in her own right. This version isn't bad. It just isn't nearly as good as Chris Stapleton's. He brings a passion, intensity, and rawness few can come close to replicating. It reminds me of some of the old school icons, like Johnny Cash. I also like the less polished, more traditional country elements in Stapleton's. It fits the song and the musical styles it was inspired by. He also has the advantage of genuine Southern US accent. Adele imitates it well enough in some places, but clearly struggles in others. I give her credit for covering something so far removed from her typical style this well though.

Adele has an ugly tone that offends.  ANYTHING, even Death Metal growls, sounds better.  (The only reason I arrived at this upload was a keyboard mistake while looking for Stapleton's rendition.  And, yes, I noticed the typos in the vid's lyrics.)

Yeah I think I give the slight edge to the Steeldrivers and because Chris really touches your soul and that version has the Steeldrivers harmonies. But this is one heck of a cover.

I prefer The Steeldrivers version too which might be in part due to hearing that one first, as well as thinking it suits a male voice better too and Chris Stapleton's is a very good male voice. You can maybe add in that a Bluegrass tinged song sounds a bit more authentic coming from someone born in Lexington, Kentucky as opposed to Tottenham in London and I say that coming from London in England myself.

Adele clearly has talent but just for good measure, I also prefer Billy Joel's version of To Make You Feel My Love over hers too.

i like this better than before he cheats. you can hear the emotion in the song and you focus on her voice instead of the background music. i wish i had that kind of depth in my voice.
