This entire album is great, but this is my favorite song on there... if a country song can be elegant in the sense of packing the most emotion and meaning into the fewest possible notes and words, then I think this is definitely elegant. To me, there is a great deal of genius and spiritual power in having the ability so say so much by using so little, and still be original.

I'm here because one of the great loves of my life is a huge fan of Ryan Adams' music, and she got me into his music, and several other great artists, back in 2011.

I had previously only heard his name, and till then, knew nothing.

Also, about a year after we drifted apart, I was in a record store and this GREAT MUSIC was being played on the background music. It would be like one tune, then a bunch of other bands, and then another good tune, etc. I kept going up to ask the clerk what the music was, when one of these great tunes would come on. Every time, it was Ryan Adams, and the album was "Heartbreaker", so at the end of shopping, I broke down and bought the whole album. Loved it ever since.

Damn, I fel so badly for the eight people who put their little thumbs down for this song...heard it for the first time a few weeks ago when we played it at a variety show at Largo (David Spade opened with a killer set, and Gary Shandlin closed strong!)--just me and R on the stage, guitar, vox, and accordian. Magic. Love this version, and ye, I'm nailing it down for this week's LA performances. Will try to lend a little emotion on accordian to an already perfect song...

A friend of mine gave me a copy of this album before I moved to Britain in the early 2000s. Heartbreaking yes, hence the album namesake, but solid gold music.  Since then, I moved back. Some of this album made it into my wedding music.  Some music really takes you back to a different time.  Not bad times or good times, just different times.
