As a 3rd grader back in the 70's, sitting on the floor of my room, headphones on, holding this album and opening my mind to this spaceman forever changed me. He is the original influence to everything I have been involved with musically, and now at 48, still gives me chills to hear these songs.

My older sister (who saw the Beatles in 64 and 66 btw) took me and my brother on a day trip to NewYorkCity from Philly (i was 11yrs old in 78), she treated us to an album each, I selected the Ace solo album only knowing the single 'NewYorkGroove', I wound up liking every song on this album more then the single . . of course I still have it, we were KISS Krazy. My two favorite bands growing up were the Beatles and KISS . .

I broke up with my girlfriend 4 years ago and a couple days ago I saw her at a show with her new boyfriend. I've never had such a feeling of regret, maybe I did the wrong thing. But I feel like Ace was feeling the same thing when he wrote this. If they ever break up I'm gonna tell her maybe we could make it one more time maybe we should try it again.

When I look at pictures from when he was really young, he wasn’t hideous or anything, I don’t think, but, man, he really started looking bad pretty early on... no doubt from substance abuse.

Gibson should have given him shares in their company for the number of sales that could be linked to him. Ace influenced more people to pick up a Les Paul than any other player of that era.

This is the best song on this album, Ace and Paul had the best solo albums, Gene and Peters I could take or leave.

Every song on Ace’s solo album was just awesome. His album blew the rest of the band’s albums out of the water. Peter’s was just complete garbage, and Gene’s wasn’t much better either.

Kiss was on the verge of a breakup. Casablanca suggested solo albums. Peter had broken his wrist all his material on album was previously recorded kinda not fair but Peter is the oldest member and was a jazz drummer.he had different influences and yes it showed.

There was 1 good song on Peter's album, can't remember the name of it though.

No, New York City Groove was the right song at the right time. You could still put that song in rotation today, and he still would be as powerful as it was back in the day..
