AC/DC - Rockin' In The Parlour Lyrics

I met her in Caroline
Round about sixty-nine
Well she came up to me and said, "Hi there honey
How'd you like to come along"

[Chorus:]
Cause we're gonna have a party
Yeah a rock 'n' roll party
Well we're gonna have a party
And before I knew
We were rockin' in the parlour
Rockin' in the parlour

Well the next time I saw her roll
Was way down in Mexico
She said, "I've got some booze around at my place
So come along and have some fun"

[Chorus]

  1. J.... T....

    Great tune!!!!👍
Would be GREAT if they revived this with Brian ,Phil and Stevie!!
They should've re done this tune when they done Can I sit next to you girl?...with the GREEEEEAAATTT RONALD BELFORD SCOTT!!!💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

  2. R.... P....

Dave Evans is really good for these two songs I admit, but AC/DC wouldn't be what they are without Bon.

  3. A.... ....

    Old ACDC.....

  4. J.... S....

Wonderful memories. Wonderful you. Love always. 😭😂😅🎸😍💓

  5. M.... ....

    First AC DC song

  6. J.... S....

You were so nice, and so gifted. I know we keep saying this, but you have to be in a really dark place to understand and my friend and I were there. To make suicide pacts a few days earlier and see these guys on Tops of the Pops, you feel like you are alive again. It was wonderful. We were mesmerized. Love you always and forever Acdc, past and present. 😭😂🎸🎸🎸😍🧡💓❤️😎💖😉🤗

  7. J.... S....

    Love you lots Bon. 💌🧡🤗🤗😎

  8. J.... S....

Love you so much Bon. Can't put a price on music which probably saved two girls lives. ❤️💕🧡💖💗🤩💓🤩💗

  9. J.... S....

I Keep listening and it still makes me cry. We were two school girls going nowhere, but we saw you on Top of the Pops, we couldn't believe it. We knew it was different and really good. We worked paper rounds before school to buy posters, but it was so worth it. Hope you know how much we loved you and still do. We noticed you too Angus. We haven't heard a guitar sound as good as yours before or since. We love you very much.😭😂🎸😄🤗😎😉🙂💕💖💌

  10. J.... S....

Wonderful. Perfection at it's best. The only group who can sing and play anything. No wonder they are loved by millions. You knew how good they were Bon. Hope you know how much you are still loved and missed. 😭😂😅🤗😍😍💗💖💖💌

  11. t.... 8....

Pre Bon Scott AC/DC was fairly similar to the band Geordie. Kinda glam rock sounding

  12. P.... Y....

    In The Drums Peter clack
    Bas Rob Bailey
    LOL

  13. S.... A....

    rock on bad assssss ya

  14. H.... A....

I saw this guy (Dave Evans) live in South América. Great show.

  15. J.... R....

My dad hates this song Rockin’ in the Parlour, he likes this song Rock or Bust. He likes AC/DC.

  16. S.... ....

I love this song so much. Simple but fun and have a nice swing to it. Even with Dave, Larry and Colin, Malcolm and Angus stickout up front on this song and it has that AC/DC feel.

  17. T.... F....

    This song is fucking good

  18. R.... V....

Not a bad singer, before Ronald Scott. It is your thing

  19. S.... o....

Dave Evans? Bob Scott? Brian Johnson? Axl Rose? Doesn’t matter, Chuck Berry and the blues have always been at the the core of this band and one can never go off course there.

  20. H.... A....

This is the song I never heard. Very gooooood !!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. M.... G....

    Mal is soloing here!

  22. S.... ....

Cool rockin song! Dave Evans is A-Okay

  23. R.... S....

Dave made AC/DC look and sound like a glam rock band (The 1973 Can I Sit Next to You Girl and this song). Just compare this to any other AC/DC song with Bon Scott and you’ll see why they let Dave go.

  24. C.... C....

Bought the original 'Can I sit Nex to You Girl' for about $1000 bux Australian on Ebay not long ago. Think I'll play this a bit, as it's the B Side of course. Been listening to AC DC tapes, records and CDs since the 1980s. Owned every studio album in that time.

  25. T.... Y....

    I love Angus and Malcolm

  26. D.... C....

I actually think he has a great voice and really like his version of Can I sit next to you girl. This is a good time for him to get back with the band!

  27. M.... M....

    the kinks meet t-rex

  28. C.... M....

In my unpopular opinion, this is the best thing they ever did.

    C.... M....

Well thank god your opinion don't mean SHIT

  29. r.... ....

Dave Evans ain't Bon, Ac/Dc at that time had to grow up but this remains a cool r'n'r tune. Mal on lead, i suppose...

  30. c.... m....

Dave Evans doesn't fit AC/DC. Why do you think he got sacked. Songs not good either.

    c.... m....

    A) He's nothing like the other two, but he's still awesome.
    B) He left because he had a falling out with Malcolm, and because the band were having money issues, which he didn't want to be a part of, so he jumped ship. It was nothing music related. Plus, you're comparing him to what the band would later come. At the time, they were typical anglo hard rock, and he was a typical anglo hard rock vocalist, so he fit perfectly, so they would have no reason to not like his style.
    C) The song is great wyd

  31. D.... H....

    1. Bon "by far"
    2. Dave Evans
    3. Brian Johnson
    LOLOLOL

    D.... H....

    David Heaton
    1-Bon
    2-Brian
    3-Dave
    4-Axl
    !!!!!!

    D.... H....

    I agree

  32. D.... C....

A good time for Dave Evans to rejoin the band

    D.... C....

I know why the hell is it axle rose

  33. D.... ....

This is back when AC/DC were a little bit more adventurous with their music...

  34. D.... O....

    That's actually a treat for AC/DC fans :)

  35. G.... H....

    dave out to lunch

  36. M.... D....

    +Roger i like him

  37. C.... C....

Wow, hasn't AC/DC's style changed! But I really liked this.

  38. D.... S....

Malcolm plays the lead in this one. His style is different than Angus.

  39. P.... O....

First time I have heard this.

  40. p.... ....

This song sounds like it could have been an Easybeats standard. It has George written all over it.

  41. D.... G....

better than Brain , any day .

    D.... G....

    I  think ?

    D.... G....

    I'M back , & i'm the Best  , this song rock's piss'off !

    D.... G....

    ***********************

    D.... G....

David Greene Good joke. Brian > Dave

    D.... G....

@David Greene do you like the album "Stiff Upper Lip"?
    Its more "jazzy" xD

  42. N.... ....

    Rock on AC DC!

    N.... ....

    Cool track Acca Dacca.

  43. A.... ....

If AC/DC ever make a final album, this should be listed as the last track. Full circle.

    A.... ....

    That's actually a great idea

    A.... ....

    Mikey Hayes strasburger475 M class
that's not actually true mark and Phil came after high voltage but were advertised in the music videos unless you're talking about international

  44. f.... ....

I'm surprised this has so many views for how obscure it is.

    f.... ....

       WHAT ?

    f.... ....

Nothing to do with AC / DC can really be considered obscure I think....

  45. M.... L....

Wow thanks for posting this, thought I had literally heard every AC/DC song and every version!

  46. D.... R....

they sound like a garage band...

    D.... R....

That's basically what they were back then.

  47. S.... ....

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's Malcolm playing the solo.

    S.... ....

Not surprising if true given Malcolm did do leads a bit back then.

    S.... ....

Yes , that's possible, Angus and Malcolm both played lead guitar and rhythm guitar during the Evans period

    S.... ....

    I think it's Mal soloing

  48. W.... ....

Evan may not be the singer that fits the current ACDC, but he is a really good singer and people should give him some more credit.

    W.... ....

I agree. He'd fit perfectly with UFO. He isn't like the other two, but he's exactly what I look for in an Anglo hard rock vocalist.

    W.... ....

Credit for what being a douche bag he sucks

    W.... ....

He’s a douchbag, too sure of himself, and he didn’t like Angus one bit, also he sounded more fit for pop not rock so my opinion is that he would be an ok pop singer but the worst rock also he’s a total d-bag

  49. A.... L....

It was before Nazareth's Hair of the Dog but drums at the begining sound the same

  50. H.... ....

    Nirvana hater.

  51. G.... C....

Don't get me wrong... i love Nirvana. i just hate you XD

  52. H.... ....

Listen to In Utero some more and shut up.

  53. G.... C....

I agree with you completely, but Kurt man, you are dead. And dead people don't have opinions anymore and should stay dead. So either write a new album or crawl back in your hole. Oh, and if you are not the real Kurt, WHY DO YOU CALL YOURSELF THAT WAY?

  54. J.... ....

I'm glad AC/DC hardened up after this effort. Good as a pop song, but not for a Rock'n'roll band!

    J.... ....

JC-Oz this is rock n roll. what acdc plays now is at most rock

  55. H.... ....

What are you talking about? Dave Evans did two songs with them. That's pretty significant. One song is significant enough. If you're part of the band for even just one song, you've done a lot.

    H.... ....

Actually, according to some sources, they did 4 songs (An entire EP) with him, they just never released the 2 other songs because Angus and Malcolm look back at that whole period with embarrassment.

    1. Can I Sit Next To You Girl.
    2. Rockin' In The Parlour.
    3. Rock & Roll Singer
    4. Soul Stripper

  56. R.... ....

Dave Evans didn't do shit with AC/DC or after. At least nothing significant. Look at his wiki page.

  57. R.... ....

    No one liked him.

  58. H.... ....

    The best

  59. T.... T....

    Exactly!

  60. D.... ....

Would have been better off in Angel, Sweet, or T-Rex.

  61. T.... T....

Not a bad voice, just not the right choice for AC/DC.

  62. A.... ....

    what do you mean??

  63. M.... S....

Nope. Malcolm loved Bon, they were best mates.

  64. H.... ....

Evans was good ill say that but Bon squashed him.The only good album without Bon is Flick of the Switch the rest is dreck!

  65. M.... ....

probably a buubblegum type here: slade, bay city rollers, sweet THOSE BANDS ARE GOOD!!! dont forget GEORDIE

  66. a.... ....

while evan's might not have been the right guy for dc [how could he be unless bon had never been born?] he did help the band [malcom's band it has to be remembered] find its feet. compare the two guys singing can i sit next to you girl and there's no doubting why they chose bon

  67. C.... P....

    Thank god
    for Bon and Brian.

  68. S.... R....

True, Brian would tear this up... I'd love to hear it...

  69. H.... ....

Dave Evans is actually a very good singer, but not for AC/DC. Evans is great for old rock n roll, and AC/DC is more Hard Rock

  70. a.... ....

dave evans king of the baddas !

  71. C.... H....

i guess dave wasn't a terrible singer, but not for ac/dc. he also didn't get along with the band, so he was probably a dick

  72. l.... ....

Sorry to tell you, but...now it exists.

  73. M.... D....

    Why exactly is that?

  74. J.... J....

This guy is good its just not for the band acdc thats why they got bon scott and then brian johnson though.

  75. h.... ....

    yes, now exist

  76. H.... ....

Thank the LORD for Bon Scott taking over for this Guy his voice is weak compared to Bon or Brian!!!

  77. z.... ....

Yep i agree with you David.

  78. D.... H....

I met him in about 2000 ..top guy ..good voice too

  79. R.... O....

bon scott rules also dave evans ok!

  80. H.... ....

Are you kidding me? The band may have been better off without him, but he's a damn good singer and fits this song perfectly. Give him credit for what he did..

  81. z.... ....

As someone who's seen Dave Evans live recently i can say he has more of a gravelly voice now that suits AC/DC songs that he does in the set like Rosie and Highway. And a real nice guy to meet and chat with after the gig.

  82. T.... ....

    Sounds Like Early Aerosmith.

  83. A.... B....

it is not bad but I think brian is and remains the best

  84. p.... ....

    GOOD SHIT :).

  85. J.... H....

@aMildlyEntertainingP I know that, but he was tossed out until '94.

  86. S.... B....

@emightis Phil is in the band now.

  87. C.... S....

    @Amrir7 It does now

  88. J.... H....

@ShortFingeredShreder Nope. I mean he did redo Can I Sit Next to You.

  89. J.... H....

@musicmanstingray1234 Malcolm hated half the band and sparred with 2 of them, that he tossed out after years in the band: Mark Evans and Phil Rudd.

  90. G.... A....

    great song!

  91. L.... J....

    @musicmanstingray1234 malcolm hated everybody.

  92. S.... ....

Am I the only one imagining Bon singing this?

  93. J.... R....

Mal and Ang were the ones who came up with the whole glam look in the first place.

  94. s.... f....

@clarasoleneducrocro Poor idiot it's not the same singer shit

  95. s.... f....

@MasterTterb98 je sui d'accord ( yes he is the shit )

  96. s.... f....

@andrewcairns11 faut pas deconner c pas du tou pareil aucune comparaison ct le tous premier chanteur vas pas dire ptit merdeux que Bon a sortie une copie de cette merde pfffff

  97. t.... ....

@YUCKSTERTHUNDER HHHH IT exist DOES YALL!!

  98. R.... ....

this song has two sides, A-Side is "Can I Sit Next To You Girl" and B-Side is "Rockin' In The Parlor"

  99. J.... R....

15 people rocked in the "parlor" not the "parlour"

  100. 9.... ....

@NightProwlerTribute they did Can I sit Next To You, Girl was recorded around the same time
