Nice song, but this music style wasn't really their thing, and the video is silly. They should have perform this in their suits and use their unique bombastic 80's disco sound with great arrangements.

ABC had its prime with few songs during the 80s. Then the band collapsed.

Well, for a song of its time, it's still a decent pop song as such. ABC embraced house music and generally the roots of anything remotely "house" were already established in their earlier records. They went with the times - "Up" may not be the best album they did but it's a decent pop record of that era. Meaning, they still took inspiration from the underground, and took it to the charts. As naive as it may sound, they tried out new ideas. "Abracadabra", the last LP with Mark White on board is also a good record as such.

Love the song and the album UP is still a favorite. However, that said every other song on the album is better than the two choices for singles in my opinion. "I'm In Love wih You" and "Greatest Love of All" would have been my choices... and "North" is the best! Still...this song still sounds great!

YES! "North" is my all time favorite ABC song. Brilliant. It just feels so good. I used to listen to it when I was driving up the coast in California.

Glad there are other "North" fans... the song is so cool and grown up and I always look forward to listening to it in the fall... I have seasonal songs so that's one for autumn.
