I think ABBA will top the charts of all selling artist ever in like 20 years or less... they selling more and more and more every second.. unlike nr 1 and 2 today ! With all respect to Elvis And Beatles.. but i think ABBA will be the greatest in the end just to their totally endless hits and musicstyle!

Such a beautiful song, such gorgeous lyrics and a song a lot of people can relate to loosely. In my life I had a summer holiday in Paris, 2016 with my first true love and later that year we broke up. So I can relate to it a lot. Beautiful memories of the week we got engaged. It’s all over now but I still have fond memories of that last summer in Paris 😍

They are all alive. The guy with the Beard is Benny, who married Frida (the Brunette). Agnetha (the blonde) married Bjorn (the clean shaven guy). They divorced more or less at the same time between 1979 1980

Sometimes tears come to eyes; Frida is so beautiful and has such wonderful voice. I just love her.

Among the four, Frida's story is quite subdued. She was an orphan and her grandma took her under her wings escaping Norway at a very young age because she was a daughter of a German Nazi. She started singing young and fortunately, she had a great solo career before she became part of ABBA. She sacrificed living away from her children all for the love of Benny..

Her father was a German soldier but he was conscripted into the regular army.  He wasn't in the SS so we don't know if he actually believed in the Nazi doctrine.  Maybe just a guy trying to get through the war in one piece.   Frida and Benny's children came to live with them when the ABBA success allowed them to move to a house big enough.  Frida's son was even a technician on ABBA's 79/80 tours.

@chelseacharger well I understand what you're saying, but Frida and Benny did not have children. The children came from her Union with Ragnar Frederickson. She was married to him from 1964 to 1970. Her two children, Hans and Lisselotte, we're born to Frida and Ragnar.

Lynda Collins.  Yes, that's correct.   I was just clarifying things in reply to badlongon.   After their divorce, Ragnar remarried.   Benny also had two children, Peter and Helene with his former partner, Christina Gronvall.   When he and Frida moved to a bigger home in Lidingo, Stockholm,  these children came to live with them.   Peter and Hans, as well as step brothers when Frida and Benny got married,  became good friends and played in the same band in the early 80's.

Times I feel like crying listening to these songs. Old songs and yet the JUICE in them remains fresh.

ABBA songs seem so easy to sing and no doubt everybody is drawn to sing but when you sing it, it will never really give justice to the song.. not even the best vocalist in the world. It seemed like they have made sure that their songs will never be sung the way it's mean to be. Really enchanted..

Theres something magical about this song. But, blissfully enough, this isn't the only masterpiece of music & the arts that ABBA created. Without doubt, ABBA is the best band that ever walked on the face of the earth; second to, perhaps, only the Beatles, in terms of statistics & sales. But then again, the artistic genius of ABBA surpasses the musical capabilities of the Beatles. I think on an overall scale, ABBA wins the game of artistic & musical talent at all levels in all categories & records of modern history.

ABBA is supreme in this genre, I love it; in Prog-Rock I love Genesis, both bands from the Seventies; both are masters at handling harmonic progressions, the quintessential stuff of European classical music.

When music was real music, played and singed by real musicians.

Frida is Norwegian she moved to Sweden when young with her grandmother. Read their autobiography Bright Lights Dark Shadows about their lives and rise to fame. Frida's early life was particularly sad

@Maureen Bradley I know a little about it, but my point is that if they became expats in UK and USA, their professional livemwould be way easier, closer to concerts, studios, TV and radios, but they decided that they wanted to raise their children as Swedes and live close to their families, despite the higher tax and logistical cost. I admire them for that

There will never be another group that does for me what ABBA did. Truly beautiful music, and I have yet to hear two women whose voices compliment each other so well. All of them can sing, but Anni-Frid and Agnetha were just perfection.
