Christmas 1981, 10 years old and I just knew this was a masterpiece. Still love it now as a 48 year old, takes me back to a different life, really evokes nostalgia, as do many of their tunes 'SOS' 'Day Before you Came' Knowing me, Knowing you' etc pure class and timeless. Today's songwriters & producers should take note, really can't see people listening to Drake in 40 years (though I may well be wrong!)

That opening movement is something else. The mandolins (?) and Agnetha's wail is heartbreaking, even before any words are sung. It's not hard to imagine her singing the same way at a Viking feast 1000 years ago....and holding the crowd spellbound as she did so...

Yup, it's "Music From Big Pink" by The Band. As I recall the records and record player (as well as the books and other props used in this video) belonged to the director of this video - Lasse Halstrom. So he probably was a fan of The Band and had their most acclaimed album in his collection.
