ABBA - Another Town, Another Train Lyrics
Day is dawning and I must go
You're asleep but still I'm sure you'll know
Why it had to end this way
You and I had a groovy time
But I told you somewhere down the line
I just have to move along
Just another town, another train
Waiting in the morning rain
Lord give my restless soul a little patience
Just another town, another train
Nothing lost and nothing gained
Guess I will spend my life in railway stations
Guess I will spend my life in railway stations
When you wake I know you'll cry
They won't comfort you at all
But in time you will understand
That the dreams we dreamed were made of sand
For a no-good bum like me
To live is to be free
Just another town, another train
Waiting in the morning rain
Look in my restless soul, a little patience
Nothing lost and nothing gained
Guess I will spend my life in railway stations
Guess I will spend my life in railway stations
[repeat and fade]

ABBA Another Town, Another Train Comments
Need a happiness pill - take ABBA.
I am a big fan of ABBA, but the comments here are laughable. This song is about as cringeworthy as it gets. Written and recorded at a time when the group was still trying to find their way musically, Bjorn's vocals are insipid. Thankfully, their songwriting developed very quickly and they realized that the girls should be the real focus in terms of delivering the songs. ABBA fanatics are a bit like the Beatles equivalents, with their steadfast refusal to accept that not everything they touched turned to gold.
Как поздно у нас поняли эту стратегию.
ABBA a most wonderful gift to mankind.
A great song sadly neglected. Should have been on ABBA Gold to represent their first album.
Супер!! Супер!!
This is the way you spend your time moving from one town to another one.⚡️💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think it may have been the great swedish no bra look that made me love Agnetha
Still powerful, still beautiful, still capture my heart like no other group
love love love love agnetha always and forever xx
Love the picture of them at Waterloo station in London.
They take your imagination to a very different level
From the ring ring album
The music that will last.
Bjorn going back to his Hootenanny Singers roots for this one, but the Hootenanny Singers didn't have Agnetha and Frida. With Agnetha and Frida singing the chorus too, it's even MORE awesome.
The "Ring Ring" album had already good songs, but I'm sure that "Another Town, Another Train" was their first truly Great song.
Muito agradecida por esta música tão linda e gostosa!
From the Album Honey Honey
Actually, from Ring, Ring, their debut album. Honey, Honey was a song title, not album...on their second album, Waterloo.
Just another underrated ABBA song! : )
Beautiful and moving song, I didn't know it.
A painful break, a separation as we all know.... That’s life.
The song is so beautiful and happy you don’t realize it’s a break up song.
Wow, it is surprise to me to get this song. I love this song so so much
Released as a single this song would reached no1
Another song that wasn't released as a single
Who can dispute the song writing genius of Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson? No - one!
Abba group is the greatest of all time. Their songs are timeless.
Very simple song, but very beautiful melody
This sounds like Bjorns first band
Hootenanny Singers

Why can’t they get back together for just one more concert tour?
I totally agree with you karel
What I love about ABBA is there were 2 hot ladies, and no smut, they weren't whores, on stage
How come they all sound like the Archie. Lv u guys🤣😘
Love the song. Love ABBA. ABBA, the absolute best...ever. Just listen.
SUBLIME!!
ABBA!!!
People were more humble and civilized during ABBA days
These were the days we still lived and had some structure. Today its a free for all and we are even too afraid to punish out own child . We have ruined the land and people are more in their own groups and labeled than ever before . This combined with technology in 50 years it will be taken to depopulate and symbolic to handmaid tale or kill each other.
★ Happy Birthday to Björn Ulvaeus !
This song is exceptionally a beautiful classic rendition!.
sverige full of muslims now, who thought that in the 70s? if svensk democrats would have warned about that this time, everybody would have called them "racists". now we see this warning would not have been wrong. especially malmö with "rosengarden" is an arabic city. svensk people how could u allow that all???? cyprus is greek - turks out.
muito apaixonado por Agnetha
untouchable melodies
pretty nice....
This is Elton John quality music and that is the best!
Simple but amazing in an inexplicable way.

❤️ ABBA ❤️
Lesser known but one of my favourites ofABBA
Great fitting visuals for this pleasant mid tempo ABBA song.
How anyone could dislike this is beyond me.....
Toutes ma jeunesse refait surface 😁👫
I might pick this song to be played at my funeral. Abba mean so much to me, and this is one song I never tire of listening to.
You really should have instructions to play this at your funeral. What a beautiful send off .
TTT (don't abuse people for gain without trading the safe reasons haters want to get the power back to harm them simply)
This hasn't nothing to do with this age/world/time featured: actually it only has to do with it: you always did and kept the right thing - love. Lucky, lucky world. - Moved on and up, had to... needed a friend. Thank you!... & Thank you.
EU TE AMO ABBA!
The cloths they are wearing takes you back in time😊
I wanna cry
Jätteskön låt som jag missat i många år.
One of my favorite song ever!!!!
ahh!! it is so beautifull
Way before my time but they were above theirs.
Think it's safe to say ABBA didn't have to "spend (their) life in railway stations". LOL :)
loved this song
Bjorn was a great singer as well as being part of the best song writers of all time
Yes, I agree , but 90% of Abba songs are a woman needing a man , can't live without a man or mourning a man...women very dependent on the man in nearly Abba songs .
Aspen...So what? That's the way it used to be and the way it should be, we women need men and we know why. We used to be in charge, on a pedestal until the Politically Correct assholes came along. Now look at things, we have an equal right to be miserable, an equal right to be drafted, an equal right to fend for ourselves with no men to protect and take care of us. Romantic love has been replaced with nothing more than a lousy fuck....Et cetera. ABBA was right on.
I don't remember was this first song iheard from Abba..or was it People need Love
People Need Love was the first song ever recorded by ABBA as we know them (when Agnetha and Frida officially joined Bjorn and Benny as a band) in 1972.
But, they weren't known as ABBA then yet. They were known as Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha, and Anni-Frid. They (their manager, Stig Andersen and the guys) coined them ABBA before their debut album came out later that year.
ABBA , one of the best troupe.
We never get music like this today , fantastic
I've always adored Bjorn's clearly enunciated vocals on this track.😎
I could go on listening to this song
Amo ABBA
This is a band I admired most in the world, when I hear there music I feel great.
You and me both Andrew
Well spoken brother
I feel you
The words they sing ring out loud and clear. Today's songs I find are largely indecipherable, even when sung by supposedly talented singers. And what is the point of that?
Another ABBA tune, another ABBA classic.
Sad story!
one of the greatest things about ABBA is that even the underknown songs are terrific
Yep just like the Beatles their throwaway songs were so good to .. that is the sign of great song writing , great arrangements great singing and musicianship
@Bryan Johnston Not only that, their quick musical evolution and their consistent impact in popular culture is another sign of their brillance
Lesser known.
@Bryan Johnston and that Album was before they were famous, so only a lucky few could listen to those songs
Is it because the lyrics of ABBA are an expression of our moments in life?
Et ikke så kendt nummer, men for mig et af de bedste af ABBA's store musikproduktion. Jeg voksede som så mange andre op med deres musik i 70'erne.
Abba le groupe qui ne degoute pas.
Timeless
Bei tempi degli ABBA, ero giovane
Abba songs saved me from suicide
don't try suicide.
@MDS I hope it would take more Megafuckingdeath for me to blow my brains out you pussy .
I totally agree with you.
Abba’s songs give us the feeling of being understood in the things we live, painful or not.
That brings a lot of comfort.
And I hope you’re feeling better now.
Best wishes to you.
@MDS not everybody has access to a gun, besides, some people survive self shooting in the head
Thank God for this
Abba never composed a bad or lousy song or melody. These four will be forever in my files for me to enjoy and listen to them whenever I miss their songs and melodies.
they did we just never heard them
King Kong was very bad song
@Gusdocs1 Aye, that it was
ABBA rules! Period.
xoxo The Clarences
makes my day every time
Much as I enjoy compilation sets such as 'Gold' the first 'Greatest Hits' (Park Bench) album had a more eclectic mix of songs on it of which this is one of the highights.
Just depends what "era" you liked best. Basically, Greatest Hits I was pre-Dancing Queen, and Gold was post-Dancing Queen, which is really when they were in their prime. For the record, I love both.
Swedish people (swedish!) are the most beautiful people in the World!
Swedes?
yes they are
Danish a very close second 👍😉
Nicholas...Second, maybe, but not close. We're talking ABBA, right? Ha.
Bloody good that such gorgeous girls should go to such bloody nice chaps, what?
I can't help to think that nordic people are so incredibly beautiful...
@Strange Boy But it is not as if they were raped, change is inevitable, I miss blonds to but, change is change.
@Tim Penfield - Change is NOT inevitable in this case. They can simply close their borders and change won't happen. Whites can preserve ourselves easily. All we need to do is to stop being afraid of being called racist by non-whites and close our borders. Europe belongs to us and blacks, Arabs and Asians don't have a right to come and live and breed in our countries.
@Strange Boy Exactly !!
I met a Norwegian girl in Corfu 20 odd years ago .. the first person I had ever met from Norway she was not only incredibly beautiful but such a lovely person as well .. nothing happened it was just one of those magic moments that happened in my life and I will never forget it .. I can see her now still as I write this
@Bryan Johnston Are you white or black?
What a fantastic track, long live ABBA

They were born to shine together
Never ever be another ABBA!
Day is dawning and I must go
You're asleep but still I'm sure you'll know
Why it had to end this way
You and I had a groovy time
But I told you somewhere down the line

BASICALLY this dude used this girl for SEX then had grown tired of fucking the same old piss hole so he decided to move on
It's just a little difficult to believe is really ABBA !! At their beginnings, sure..
