Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties - The Thunderbird Inn Lyrics
People are starting to tear down their Christmas lights
It never got cold here but they know that the season's died
And I've been sleeping in a motel off 95
I don't really mind it much
The clerk at the desk is nice
Well, I found a bar that's just outside the township line
And I go there most every night
I drank my last paycheck dry
And outside, a homeless man asks me for change and I
I look him straight in his eyes
He starts to apologize
Tells me "God's got a plan for me and that it'll be alright"
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
The owner's been giving me a break on my rent this week
He says that I'm good for it
Well, I joke how I'm probably
But I came up short again and nobody's laughing
So I'll sneak out at 2 am
I can't do it honestly
Well, I know I'm a coward and I feel a bad night coming
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
Didn't know that I looked that pathetic
So pour me another drink for a daughter I'll never meet
A wife who don't love me and a cold cup of coffee
So pour me another drink and I'll count my blessings
Got a half tank of gas left and this bottle ain't empty

Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties The Thunderbird Inn Comments
apparently he wrote this about where I live and that just warms my heart
Hi I'm Charlie
Hi Charlie
Hey Charlie, how you doin'?
this is my favorite. no matter the other songs I'm into at the time, I always seem to come back to this.
I don't know why.
+arin hanson BRO GAME GRUMPS THO
i was probably 14 when i made this comment; i'm in a better place now and i'm happier than i was. i don't know why this album still calls to me at 2:02AM.
I did a cover of this song on my channel if anyone is interested in watching it
"And outside a homeless man
Asks me for change and I
I look him straight in his eyes
He starts to apologize
Tells me god's got a plan for me
That it'll be all right
I didn't know that I looked that pathetic"
Favorite lines on the whole album.
Same here. Probably because that actually happened to me not long ago (before I'd heard the album, just getting more into TWY & Aaron West now - fucking amazing stuff). Its not like I've ever lost a baby, but other than that, its like Aaron's been where I've been, man. Chills. Fiction or not, I feel the dude's pain.
agree, but favourite line of the song, not the album. but a great line, a very great line
Lyrical genius
Shout out to I-95 ;)
thats a long ass road lol
Interstate 95...literally connects multiple states
first dislike! ;D
you're just mad because it's better than anything you listen to.
I think this may be my favorite song from the album lyrically.
God that pour me another drink part just gave me chills and made me year up a bit
lets proof read this shall we?
Why doesn't Hopeless make a long movie for this album? Imagine this. It starts off with some back stories on everything, like when the baby was a miscarriage, and his father being sick. Through out the movie it portrays everything in sequence of events. There's about 5 minutes of just acting with no music between each song, the songs have videos according to the time of everything happening. Give me a break on how all over the place I am, I'm in a position where I relate to losing the love of my life and living alone at my parents upstairs apartment. I'm a little shaken, but you guys understand what I'm talking about. Love you guys <3
The movie is in your head every time you jam to this album
@Skyler Garrard but I want to watch a produced movie, it would be amazing.
Like the doors
Yes please.
I like him c:
Damn!!! Dan's voice always gives me chills
The best one for sure.
This, Grapefruit, and Get Me Out Alive
@Kevin Moyers completely agree man
@Cassie Serowik
@Kevin Moyers I love all of this album, but man, Our Apartment really gets me in my feels in such a good and bad way. Can't help but love that song.
@MrCoaxials its like every song hits you in this weird spot in your heart you haven't felt ever felt in your life and your like "what the actual fuck is happening to me"
Wow. I have no other words for this album. Just wow.
I think this may be my favorite song off the album.
