Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties - Orchard Park Lyrics

Up at dawn and on the highway
Mom asleep against the window
Light is breaking through
I hum a song to keep me company
I swear to god I heard you hum the same tune
If you wanted to I think you could've been a singer
I got it from you
Switch on the radio at Dansville
I comb the static signal looking for the news
I found the frequency for sports talk
All the callers lining up to sing the blues
I heard this Sammy kid is supposed to be something special
I hope he is
I hope he is

I spread your ashes in Orchard Park
In the creek beyond the east wall
So I know where you are
Come November when I'm screaming at my TV in the dark
You're screaming with me from Orchard Park

Mom and I laugh on the way home
She says she's got a black thumb
All the house plants met their doom
But she still tends to your tomatoes
Says the garden's looking healthy
She's already seeing blooms
I don't got much to lose
But I keep close to my chest
The things I still do

I spread your ashes in Orchard Park
In the creek beyond the east wall
So I know where you are
Come November when I'm screaming at my TV in the dark
You're screaming with me from Orchard Park

I heard this Sammy kid is supposed to be something special
I heard this Sammy kid is supposed to be something special
I heard this Sammy kid is supposed to be something special
I hope he is

Aaron West And The Roaring Twenties Orchard Park Comments

After listening to both albums...I get it. Aaron went through a lot. The miscarriage of his baby, the divorce to his wife, and being completely depressed. Having no money and moving around. Aaron was low. But at the end of the first album I felt hope for him “Going to Georgia”. He was saving himself by leaving everything he knew.

I love how Aaron kept up with his debts. Paying his mom back, the thunderbinn inn and what not.

This album Aaron knows he has to do better. He knows he needs to man up. It’s still taking time for him though.

Paying his mom back and The Thunderbird. Playing gigs. I think paying debts and going back home to help Mom was a big thing.

I have hope for Aaron...things will get better and be better. He’s manning up.

I don’t think Diane and him will ever get back together. He may meet someone new.

I am dying to know the rest of the Aaron West story. Does his life ever get better? Does he get back together with his wife after years on the road?

He disposed of his ashes...His father is talking to him. I love Aaron West.

  7. Jessica Zimmerman

Aaron West and his Buffalo Bills references always bring me to tears. My dad and I don't have the best relationship but one of my favorite memories I'll have with him is early morning trips to Orchard Park to see the game.

  8. JP McGrath

I'm really hoping this is one of many in the next album and not just a single... I need to know what happens next

  9. JP McGrath

At first I thought Dianne died

How on earth is this music so undiscovered? 5800 views for this is shameful. Beautiful song and amazing artist

A song talking about Sammy Watkins.. I love this guys voice but the bills references are what really solidified this guy for me. Really hits home as a 3rd gen bills fan, from buffalo but far away now it makes me homesick. Great now I’m sad that we traded Sammy away

  14. Adriel Ortiz

I love that Aaron Wests character was so close to his dad and soupy really makes it hit home with that sports metaphor
