If this is pop country, then you might as well call Keith Urban a hip hop star. Is there not enough twang??? This brings back memories of mid-90's Alan Jackson or Brooks and Dunn for me.

If you've followed his entire career, he is country to the core and pretty much every album he's ever made has at least one song that's a little edgier than what he normally does. This apparently is that song.

If you're talking about whether Aaron Watson has sold out to Nashville, he hasn't and I don't think he ever will. Why would he? He makes the final decision on everything and he does it his way without a Nashville record label telling him who he should be, how he should sound, what he needs to wear, etc. He has tried to do a joint venture or two in the past with folks there, but nobody has agreed.
