this song reminds me so much of when i was in university. i was in a pretty bad way.. anxiety was consuming every inch of my body and mind. i gravitated towards a-ha during the darkest and hardest times. i remember listening to this album in bed trying to find some kind of peace. this song is so relaxing, i honestly feel like it calmed me down and helped me sleep better. mortens velvety soft voice like a lullaby. thank you a-ha for everything. <3

a-ha exited their final album and 'good-bye' by making THEIR BEST SONG EVER. if they ever come back, well even after they split, this is just a tiny peek at what they're capable of, they are true musicians, performers, etc - ALL OF IT, SECOND TO NONE, its surreal - unreal a band as this even exists in a shitty world as this.........they-and their music is just too 'SACRED' for this unappreciative rap music piece of shit world............but here they are, and what lives did they touch..........If I hear better than 'simulator' from them, I think I'm gonna soar to heaven............

I've listened to a-ha all my life. Love all their music-they started with very catchy cheesy stuff but their best stuff was later. This is a fantastic song. I don't know why anyone would be critical of this. It's more genius than anything else. I do, however, feel their peak was the amazing memorial beach album. If you like a-ha check out this underrated album and my favourite a-ha song of all time 'angel in the snow'.

TRIple amen brother, this song is so pure, like soaring through heaven..........im so moved by it, words cant even begin to describe how you feel............I dont know if any video would do it justice, perhaps thats why a-ha didnt make one -this song is so liberating to my heart -and smiles on my face - I feel God............

@Yeshua isAllyouNeed Im 47 a TOTAL 80s kid, one of if not THE greatest decades of all time - for music, videos, movies - EVERYTHING, I grew up with U2, a-ha, the fantastic scottish rock band 'Big Country' the late great Stuart Adamson singer frontman of Big Country looked so much like Morten Harket......I wonder if they ever met.....I know a-ha did tour scotland, but I don't know and don't think Big Country ever toured Oslo or any part of the beautiful country of Norway.........

fucking amen! i cant understand for the life of me why aha didnt play it as the last song in concerts?????????? and on their DVD? i just dont get it, and also why they didn't make the best video theyve ever made of it? i dont get that either, i want to make an unofficial video of it so bad because you are fucking right, it IS a fucking MASTERPIECE and it deserves that kind of attention, aha is one of if not the best fan-loving bands there is and theyd be flattered if fans put together a video :)

@chandler76 yes, does anyone know if they played this live in concert? maybe they did and didn't have it professionally shot for a reason, but on their pro shot dvds and i cant even find it on bootleg dvds, they didnt play it live, of course it should have been the last song of the concert leaving many in tears, but maybe they didn't want to 'commercialize' it, and keep it sacred or something, by just having it on the album,..i would love to make a fan made video of this song, i love you aha, ty

This is absolutely amazing song from such great album. In my 35, had to be and it´s in my car from last summer playing all the time, so emotional and relaxing while driving wherever you are, wherever you go, it´s best therapy ever known for your body and soul

A-ha is eternal flame and better friend for those who appreciate the best real good music ever made !

Duran Duran ripped off David Sylvian and Japan, they turned what they did into more commercial pop music.I like them and all early on but later after Andy and Roger left they lost me.

i agree, in a way they sort of mirror the actions of the beatles, when they broke up; they've announced the news on a light note, but they're actually making a very wise descision. if they were to continue on, they would inevitably be reduced to just doing set list repeats. this way they've kept their dignity intact, and people will remember as the legendary band they were, not some lame group from years ago that faded into the background. love you a-ha, and wish you the best for the future!!

I think at the last minute on their last final concert Morten Harket will announce that A-ha stays together for another 10 years and they only wanted to make a joke.

love it so much! i have been listening to a-ha ever since i heard 'the sun always shines on tv' when i was six, and they have never failed to amaze me. stunning song, reminiscent of the demo for 'the blue sky' (not the over-processed album version). has a strong christmassy feeling to it, in my opinion. beautiful, and a song that should have been released as the headline single. how any normal a-ha fan can't appreciate this stunning song is beyond me. waaktaar-savoy at his very best. go a-ha!

I meant to say "real life" instead of "real time".

I identify myself quite a lot with this song. Im 23 and just beggining to work by myself and I feel like I've started the simulator of "real time". The usage of the concept "simulator" seems to me like an analogy for what "real world" is when you leave your parents protection, its like a new world, a new reality simulator for you. When Martin sings "you're in control now, now you're on your own" I really feel my mind flying, but at the same time, my feet on the ground of this "real world".

A-ha is really perfect how to make a Beatles tribute song in their own style.
This is not imitation, just an interesting experiment they made even on Analogue on songs like Over the Treetops, White Dwarf and Halfway Through the Tour.
I think STS was a fantastic result of this approach.

I think we can't speak about bad songs concerning this album, because it's brilliant. There is quality everywhere, the majority of today's bands will never approach this level.
They can experiment if they want to, even their weakest song receives at least 4 from 5 stars, but on FOTM each song deserves 5 stars and I'm not a huge fan to say that.

I have listen to all their new tracks now and I'm gonna buy the album. Their new sound is great. So good that they are back to their roots with pop/synth/dance songs.
