I don't suppose there's some Platonic influence? The video has a theme of the lesser reality (like social media) and the greater reality (or the natural world). This reminds me of the Analogy of the Cave, where a slave was dragged from the cave in which they had been lied to with shadows all their life and gradually adjusted to the greater world. Further more, when Kai's phone screen turned red it was like the blue light filter had been turned on (which makes your phone blind you less!) As soon as he did the other slaves/prisoners assaulted him, like how the slaves did to the philosopher slave when they returned, simply becsuse they knew of something better that disagreed with the others. #AskNightwish

I’m just a fan and all, but I really do miss Taria... Nightwish just sounds like every other gothic metal band with a female singer these days.

You got it bit reversed. Every other gothic band with female singer tries to sound like Nightwish. Plus: It's been 15 years(!!) since Tarja was in band. Both parties have moved on long time ago and are doing fine. Life is too short to be stuck in the past.

jeppe jeppinen I love Nightwish and acknowledge that they were very influential to a plethora of copy cat bands. My personal opinion is that I enjoy the Tarja period more and wish that it hadn’t ended the way that it did. Life is too short to care that much about opinions that differ from yours. Our opinions don’t really mean all that much at the end of the day.

Mr David Fair point. I was simply pointing out the irony of seeing two conflicting complaints in the comments. And I would agree to an extent. Tuomas is getting a little too comfortable with certain riffs. But at the same time, with this single, I feel like everything is more focused than it was during EFMB era. There’s no meandering filler. Everything feels done very much on purpose. And I am excited to hear what this album will have to offer if this is the ‘safest’ track. I have a feeling we’re in for quite the ride!

Ok, i see people complaining that this is not Nightwish? What do you want? You want them to stay the same forever, making tracks and albums that sound like the previous records? Come on man, people grow up and evolve. They are not kids anymore. We all grow up and evolve one day it happens to us all. I think this video is pretty damn good and so is the song. The fact that this band is still going strong after all this time is a prize of its own. Not many rock and metal bands are making it these days. Only like the Korn's, Slipknots, and a few others and Nightwish. They are still doing their thing man and they are still one of the most talented bands in the world today with a unique style of their own. Dont even mention Tarja, that shit was like 20 years ago now..move on. Im stoked to hear the rest of this album...peace and love!

Since when does Nightwish have to show bare ass to draw people's attention? Maybe you guys wanted to get socially involved (and it is praiseworthy in itself) but those issues have been criticised so many times before that they're beyond boring. I'm a huge fan of yours but that song won't get to the top of my list.

As expected the Band are as good as ever they were. The addition of Floor has transformed them. Fast Forward to the Release Date if this is any to go by. Hope to see them soon, once again. Once I saw them live with Ms.Jansen I was sold even more than the very first time I saw them. This truly is a Fabulous "NOISE"

Awesome stuff man. This video reminds me of the 90's early 2000's when rock and metal bands were still doing videos like this. You just dont see vids like this done this way too much anymore. Theatrical, dramatic, and to the point. Strong message, purpose, with meaning. Also the song is good too. Mixes well with the video. And that note Floor hits at the end though...

1998 here but grew up in very rural area of Ukraine xD no internet, no mobile phone, barely any TV. We spent our childhood exploring on our bikes, camping out at weekends, jumping into quarries to swim on summer days, board games and cosy winter nights round the fire, we had barely money but friends and family and all we ever needed was each other :) I wouldn't trade my childhood for the world.
