5th Dimension, The - Band Of Gold Lyrics

I've never wanted wealth untold
My life has one design
A simple little band of gold
To prove that you are mine

Don't want the world to have and hold
For fame is not my line
Just want a little band of gold
To prove that you are mine

Some sail away to Araby and other lands of mystery
But all the wonders that they see will never tempt me

Their memories will soon grow cold
But till the end of time
There'll be a little band of gold
To prove that you are mine

Some sail away to Araby and other lands of mystery
But all the wonders that they see will never tempt me

Their memories will soon grow cold
But till the end of time
There'll be a little band of gold
To prove that you are mine

  1. R.... W....

One of my favorite singers should have been featured more

  2. V.... R....

What album is this song on?

    V.... R....

    "Individually and Collectively" Bell 6073

  3. Y.... P....

    THEGREATESTSONGOFALLTIME

  4. N.... K....

Wow !! this is another side I never heard of the 5D's so I guessing that it's Ron that singing the lead on this beautiful song , very nicely done

  5. M.... M....

They were wonderful as a group but they could stand individually and knock it out of the ball park.

  6. c.... ....

Holy crap! I would love to be able to sing like that.

  7. P.... ....

Is this really Ron Townson? I thought he had a deeper, operatic voice?

    P.... ....

He was an operatic tenor. Listen to end of The Declaration

  8. m.... t....

Rons voice was beautiful falsetto perfect he deserved more leads rest in heaven not forgotten my brother

  9. p.... ....

I love the background vocals at about 2:58 which blend with Ron's leads.

    p.... ....

pennridgeboy Yes. The marriage of Ron's falsetto leads here with the others on background vocals; superb here. The producers really should have used Ronald more often. Imagine the direction the group could've gone with three strong leads. And they really did have that with him. But the production team and the record companies did not want to market them in that manner.

  10. S.... C....

    Wow, that was real cool

  11. C.... C....

OMG... I found it... I was so in love with my then boyfriend Tyrone.  Oh the memories... (wipes tear away).

  12. M.... S....

THIS BROTHER CAN BLOW...WHY WASN'T HIS VOICE USED MORE OFTEN?

    M.... S....

My sentiments exactly.  And in the EARLY 70s, his falsetto matched with Billy's vocals and Marilyn's high soprano would've just been wild.

  13. M.... ....

YAY!!! Sonebody finally posted this song. Ron's falsetto is NIIIICE! They should have use it more in the 70s.
