311 - Thriving To The Scene Lyrics

Everything seems turning
And the jam starts to break
(??) circles
And red and not pink

I know its not my place
But something to face
My economy seems to be
(??) in worse than actually (??)

Thriving to the scene
Thriving to the scene
Thriving to the scene

Then I'm acting pissed
I couldn't share my fist
The very word is coming
But its a boy that I have missed
Hit it

Thriving to the scene
Thriving to the scene
Thriving to the scene

    chili pepper ish?..

    S.... ....

Very much so. I bet if Jim Watson stayed in the band they would have continued down this funk metal path.

@City of Shoes I'm quite okay with that. Chili peppers were the best at incorporating funk and hard rock/some times metal with hillel and fast pace rhythmic lyrics earlier on and really paved the way for alot of bands like 311. But 311 were original in the sense of their ability to go from a ragge, to rock, to rap rock, to funk to metal in one song. Then going more so funk/reggae and rock with hip hop styled lyrics over the years. Basically, they wouldn't be where they are now or have gone as long if they stayed with jim.

P-nut, chad, nick and tim?  Is that the right order?
    such an unrecognizable kids!

    D.... ....

No. Close, but not there. Tim Mahoney had temporarily left "Unity(which became '311' in 1990). P-nut's friend Jim Watson played guitar on their first album "Dammit." The order from left to right is: P-nut, Chad, Nick, Jim Watson. Tim Mahoney came back permanently in 1991 and Jim Watson was asked to leave the band. Jim Watson was really into the late 80's thrash-scene and really didn't have the clean mellow tones that Tim does. Plus, Tim Mahoney and Nick were really good friends and had previously been in the band "the Eds."

    @Daniel Lindenbaum
Is Jim the one who was arrested on the 311 charge?

    D.... ....

Yes. P-nut and Jim were very close friends. According to the story, P-nut got away but Jim Watson was taken back to his parents house naked after being caught skinny dipping. Hence, the name of the band as the police code 311. P-nut also had the sad task of asking Jim Watson to leave the band when Tim came back in 1991.
