1997. I was in Boulder CO, this was it for me

I've been on a 2 month 311 trip... Once I get started it's almost impossible to listen to anyone else, no other music absorbs into my soul like this. It's just going to be a regular part of my life until the end. Ever since the 90's, once I get stuck on 311 I'm stuck for weeks.

I'm pretty sure that the intro to this song is based on the intro to the Sega Genesis game, Streets of Rage. There's a lyric in Brodels that says "...lost a lot in Vegas, plays a lot of Sega..." and in Enlarged to Show Detail you can see Nick playing a Sega Genesis (iirc right before the song "Who's Got the Herb?" starts to play).

Different people like different albums and songs because they hit you in different ways. That's what I get out of their music anyways. I like all of their albums and their concerts are the most entertaining shows you could ask for.

lol i remember when i first started listening to 311 and hearing all this crap about what 311 stood for....somethin like the 11 stands for the 11th letter of the alphabet; K...and having 3 of em and voila....kkk...such crap...i'm black and i've enjoyed these guys since their blue album dropped back in '95 or so....and as for transistor...complete classic...shows how they are in a class of punk reggae (or whatever you wanna call it) all their own....quite spiritual actually.......

damn, 311 is such a special band. Sometimes their lyrics will just hit you and make you want to change your life for the better. I don't know of any other band that can pull that off while sounding badass at the same time.

last years tour they started the setlist with beautiful disaster what was i thinking and feels so good here but i hear ya would like to hear more of those then whiskey and wine but they always bring it

Such a great album. Grassroots and Transitor are neck to neck for my favorite 311 albums. They don't really have a bad album in my opinion. If I had to choose an album as my least favorite...hmmmm...maybe Sound System. I sure hope Bob Rock doesn't mess shit up with 311 like he did for Metallica. I'm looking forward to the new album. Rock on.
