Jahred. You wouldn't remember my brothers name, Eric, from Salt Lake City, but you might remember his tattoo. It was on his head (which was always shaved) and it was the hed symbol with the big X in the middle. You guys talked on several occasions after the show and you always remembered him from the last time. Anyway he fuckin died from a dirt bike accident. He was your biggest fan (and me also) and I wish you knew him well enough to give a shout out in a song or something. He spread your words to all and he was a great man, friend, father, son and the best brother in the world. I miss him so bad....

Alright so I got some lyrics wrong too, it's not Fire it Up, it's Grind 'Em Up, but it doesn't change the fact that screaming the same thing over and over again is unoriginal and ruins the chorus/song, at least for me anyway. Then again, most modern 'metal/rock' songs are out of things to write about. The new Godsmack Song 'Something Different' is the same way. The line 'don't you feel you ever need to speak to me that way' ruins it with some kind of fake 'tough guy' bullshit.
For more proof, look at the new song where the main chorus uses 'One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready' as its chorus. That's absolutely lazy song writing if you ask me, and all of the mainstream modern rock/metal bands are doing it, Korn's "Hater" is by far their laziest song ever written, except maybe when they did the fucking nursery rhymes.

Haha shoots and ladders is shit! I do however like rocking the fuck out to it with my then 4 year old. Hearing her scream it out was awesome. Repetitive bland bullshit is what sells anymore. Sad really. My bro in law was riding with me the other day and I put on no turning back and he goes this sucks and put on some sound cloud rapper and was like this is what real music sounds like. Kids are fucking stupid!

I've liked some HedPE songs in the past, and have even seen them live once which was cool. But something seems different.
This song would be much better if it had a better chorus, as it is, screaming "One More Body" "Fire it up!" is uninspired and bland and completely ruins the song for me.
TL:DR The chorus to this song is garbage and kills the rest of the song

Hed PE's new album "Evolution" is so fucking good. It seamlessly blends the genres of punk, metal, rock, reggae, hiphop/rap, and soul. It also offers three pure Reggae songs called "Nowhere 2 Go", "Let It Burn", and "Hold On". Their vocalist Jahred absolutely KILLS it. He's also a struggling musician, just like many of us. He talks about the hardships of the poor as well as mental issues and social injustices. It's just a very honest album. If you can afford it, please pick it up and help support Jahred and his band. Thanks for posting the video, man.
